silly bits (and mostly ruby, haha)

I had a 4 happy hours in 4 days, so I got to come home early on Friday... which meant picking up the kids with R! Ruby has been getting used to the car ride this week 😊

Our family text is producing some gold... mostly in Richard selfies :)

I asked R3 if I could take a picture of him and his milkshake 🙃He and Emily have been SUPER INTO making milkshakes recently! I just have to prevent them from putting whole whipping cream in them, lol (but really 😳)

We went to Pawtoberfest for the first time! It was Ruby's first time getting out with us and meeting other dogs. She did really well, all things considered, but was still very excited! It was so fun seeing her interact with other dogs. Bonus: we met the cutest/ugliest English bulldog named Caesar, and we all wanted to take him home... R3 especially! (Sadie was with Mikayah and Keira celebrating M's birthday at Main Event)

We made burgers this weekend (juicy Lucy's!) and mom came over! She is falling in love with Ruby and always brings her treats... it's so sweet!

Earlier in the week, R sent me this video of Ruby howling along to Sadie's melodica playin'. When I was showing that video to Aaron, she started howling along with it! I managed to get the perfect recording of her watching/howling along a few hours later. 😆

new phone, new start :)

I recently got a new phone (portrait mode ahead!), and that acquisition really felt like a turning point in me getting back to the blog! So much has happened in our family since I stopped posting regularly -- from turning 30, getting a new gig at Republic Title, going to Mexico, Emily + R3 getting braces, R3's VOICE CHANGING, Darrah + Richard's trip to Galveston, Meghan finishing her apprenticeship... just to name a few things I can think of off hand!

I feel so guilty whenever I don't do this blog upkeep regularly, mainly because I really, truly love keeping these memories in place! I've had a "line a day" journal I've been keeping up with in the since May 2018, and that's been giving me some peace while we work through this massive season of change. And while those lines are good, pictures/videos are way way better!

So, without further wait, here's a slice of life so far in October. 😊

Quite possibly the greatest video I've ever recorded in my life, haha. Just walked by the hallway one evening and saw these babies all hanging out in Sadie's room. *cries all the tears*

Sadie fell in love with frozen grapes, and left me this sweet note when I prepped some and forgot to tell her!
