thanksgiving (and the weekend!) 2016

Monday, November 28, 2016

This Thanksgiving and subsequent weekend was one for the record books. We ate & drank like kings, saw all the "over 18-year-olds" we loved (the littles' were at their mom's), watched a bunch of Simpsons episodes (yay for the annual marathon!), put up the Christmas decor! The only downside was the guilt I felt after Thanksgiving Day for being ABSOLUTELY ZERO HELP. I mean, I took all these pictures and videos (videos on my hard-drive, haha), but in terms of actually doing something that contributed to the day's fesitivies... I was out, haha. (I'm obviously super thankful for family that doesn't kick my ass for being so chillax.)

Hilarious texts that I gotta keep for the memories. :)

Richard & D, talking to the uncles.

Ryan, being adorable.

I probably said something like, "Be really cute, baby!" ;P

Dessert cousins!

Mommy being continually adorable the next day!

The girls chillin' out and then rocking onesies at the mall. (Mom brought me a bunch of high-school stuff the day before and the tie-dye onesie was passed downed to Meghan!) I even managed to put up the Christmas tree the next day, which is a small miracle. ;P

Hanging out with Debbie, Aaron, Matt & Ioana at a karaoke bar!

Lovely ladies at our house afterwards. :)

FUN FUN FUN. :)

a crappy dinner party and other fun stuff ;)

A real blessing was seeing this article called "5 Rules for Hosting a Crappy Dinner Party (and Seeing Your Friends More Often)" - what a revelation! Richard get so anxious cleaning the house, and picking out food for people can be so intimidating, but one weekend we just decided to throw it out there to our friends... and it was a blast! Debbie, Aaron, Bob and Kim took the bait and a new tradition was born. We served left-over lasagna and half-open bottles of wine. The dress-code was casual and fun (sweats!) and we laughed ALOT. Thanks for the tip, internet!

Other fun, rando things from this month include...
This hilarious text via Hilary. STILL AMAZING.

My handsome husband at my work's Customer Appreciation Party (and my RTR dress that was so dope!).

A night with Tonya and Stephen and making lobster mac & cheese for dinner! It was SO GOOD.

And the boys falling asleep watching super hero movies. :)

A funny group text that started with Mumsie saying, "What can I bring to Thanksgiving?"

richard's birthday!

Friday, November 11, 2016

This year for Richard's birthday, we had all the family over and he DID NOT COOK. ;P (Big deal!) Tonya made an awesome, killer, kick-ass lasagna (including enough for left-overs!) and we just hung out as one big happy. It was so fun! (There's also a big video on my hard-drive, haha)

Tonya, passed out from all the carbs!

The next morning, the 6 of us woke up and had breakfast together (which never happens!). I made the kiddos fill out these dumb little "dad surveys" and Richard read all their answers, it was so cute! (I now cannot find said dad surveys... the perils of blogging list months after the fact, haha).

Emily made a special card with her tablet. ;)

And a few days later, we went and saw Louis CK! LOUIEEE. It was so much fun! He had amazing openers, and the whole thing was hilarious (as per ush).

School dress-up :)

Girls on their way to some haunted houses.

With Jada, trick-or-treating in our neighborhood on the actual Monday!

And a picture of Sadie, just to prove she was around, too. :)
