toni & guy photographic awards!

A few months ago, Meggie asked Richard to be a model for T&G's annual Photographic Awards competition (meaning just getting pretty for a stylist, who cuts/styles your hair in an editorial way). It would give Meg some street cred at school (who modeled herself!) and just take a few hours after work, so why not?

He looks ready to lead a revolution, haha.

And here's Meggie's picture!

WELL, no time later we found out that R's photo was selected as a FINALIST in in the national competition. BFD! His stylist, Richie, got alot of prestige with the nomination and Richard's photo made the annual Look Book (which we still need to buy!). The awards ceremony was in Dallas, and while Meghan and Richard were already planning on going together, the "finalist" variable made it so exciting and fun.

AND LO AND BEHOLD, HIS PICTURE WON. Won! Of all things we didn't expect to happen when Richard went in to model one random weekday was for his picture to ultimately win this prestigious national prize! It's such a fun note on 2016. :)

a long, overdue happy list

Lots of little lovely things happening this week... :)

- R3 getting into my movies! Finally! "Bus Stop," "Man on Wire," "An American in Paris..." this all makes me so happy.
- Walking into the girls' room and finding Emily trying to accurately draw/shade a chicken, hahaha.
- Sadie wanting to workout with me! I'm so bummed I didn't get a picture of her, she was SO CUTE. She only made it a third of the way through (and then she just counted me down the rest of the time - I made her follow through with her commitment, lol). She had on her yoga pants, sports bra, hair pulled back, UGH IT WAS SO ADORABLE.
- Meghan saying she needs some "positive adult female time." Lunch is in the works with Juju and Tonya!
- Waking up at 9am on a Sunday! Getting my laundry done before noon! Quelle surprise!!!
- Feeling like I'm finally in a groove.
- R3 wanting to play tennis. (More like me asking, "Hey, would you play tennis for a sport?" and him saying "Sure!") I'M SO INTO THIS.
- Positive vibes about our house! We want to buy it so need every single positive vibe!
- My workouts going really, really well.
- Me being nice to myself because otherwise what's the point?!

macy jane's first birthday 😄

On Saturday, this little cutie turned 1! Mary and Chris planned a wonderful party that was part costume party, part indoor games extravaganza, part sugar coma... it was seriously the best kid party I've ever been to. :) Richard and Meghan went to the Texas Men's Roller Derby final series, so it was just me and the littles. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN. 

R3 was into every photobooth prop hat available (you'll see a few more as this post goes on, haha).

R3: "Uh, Ms. Kylie... I may or may not have given a checkers piece to an adorable little dinosaur and I don't know where it is..." (He later found it!)

a saturday mini-vacation :)

We had the loveliest Saturday this weekend. Kinda a dream-like Saturday! Hilary was in town and Betsy's birthday was during the week, so R and I decided to pop over to Collins' house ;P for lunch... and Mumsie came with! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN. <3

When we got back to Richardson, mom went home and R & I went to Masami for the first time, and it was so cute! The food is decent (it doesn't beat our favorite Japanese place - where the food is twice as expensive and the menu is hardly legible), and I tried so many new things!

Azuki shiratama... or sweetened azuki beans with green tea + red plum ice cream and mochi! It was so crazy!

Thennn, my sweet man and I took a walk around the park before we went home, and when we got home we watched "Zootopia" and "The Peanuts Movie," and went to bed by 10pm. DREAM SCENARIO, FOLKS. And the weather was beautiful and perfect! Just so many good vibes!

In between Emily hanging out with Cindy, Richard going bowling with Jada, Debbie's White Party and the usual Sunday shuffle, Meghan had a little photoshoot (and small torture session ;P) with the girls!
